On 23 February, one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in the world of financial and capital markets, the BÉT Legek, took place. This time, the BSE presented awards in a total of 24 categories. As in previous years, the winners were selected by a professional jury of members of the Exchange's Advisory Board, based on the opinions of the jury and the market performance of the participants. Once again, the Domestic Equities Trading Platform of the Year was selected on the basis of online votes cast by users.
Following a welcome speech by Dr. Mihály Patai, Ágnes Hornung, State Secretary for Families, congratulated the winners and gave a presentation on 'A financial approach to family support'.
The three key pillars of our family policy remain the creation of financial security for families, support for freedom of choice and an increase in the number of births, including through a financial approach to family benefits. Household savings have nearly tripled in the past year, so we are making it a priority to ensure that families invest their savings wisely."
said Ágnes Hornung, State Secretary for Families.
The development and strength of the domestic capital market is shown by the fact that the activity of issuers on the Budapest Stock Exchange in 2022, despite the numerous external challenges, has not decreased, be it in the regulated market, our mid-cap platform or the bond segment. Another important result for BSE is that trading volumes exceeded the average of previous years. All of these successes deserve recognition, which, as is traditional, is the BÉT Legek"
said Richárd Végh, CEO of the Budapest Stock Exchange, in connection with this year's BÉT Legek gala event.
One of the most popular awards, the Investment Service Provider of the Year Award, was presented to OTP Bank Nyrt. The bank was also successful as an issuer, winning the Issuer Transparency Award and the Highest Turnover Equity Issuer of the Year. In the latter category, it was ahead of MOL Nyrt., which became the second largest issuer, and Richter Gedeon Nyrt. took home the bronze medal.
The Budapest Stock Exchange has announced winners in 6 new categories compared to last year. Vienna Insurance Group AG in the Premium category took home the title of the biggest new share introduction of the year in 2022, while Concorde Értékpapír Zrt. was named Analyst of the Year.
The jury has now awarded 3 different prizes for capital increases: the largest merger capital increase of the year was awarded to MKB Bank Nyrt., the private capital increase of the year to 4iG Nyrt. and the public capital increase of the year to Masterplast Nyrt.
Navigator Investments Nyrt. was awarded the title of BÉT Xtend Market Advisor of the Year, a new category linked to BSE's mid-cap market, Xtend. Gloster Infocommunications Nyrt. was awarded the BÉT Xtend Special Prize by the jury, while NAP Nyrt. was named Issuer of the Year on the BÉT Xtend market.
The social responsibility awards, which are also of great prestige, were also awarded to ALTEO Energy Services Nyrt. for the Responsibility, Sustainability and Corporate Governance Award and KBC Securities Magyarországi Fióktelepe for the Investor Awareness Award.
WOOD & Company was the winner in the category of the largest turnover stockbroker of the year, Concorde Értékpapír Zrt. was the runner-up and Erste Befektetési Zrt. was awarded the third place. Erste Befektetési Zrt. was awarded the title of the largest futures company of the year, while Raiffeisen Bank Zrt. was awarded the title of the largest futures company of the year. About the BÉT Legek awards and event
Every year for more than twenty years, the Budapest Stock Exchange has organised the BÉT Legek, an event that rewards the most outstanding annual performances of the domestic capital market. The awards are decided by a professional jury of members of the Exchange's Advisory Board. In most categories, results will be based on a quantitative methodology (e.g. turnover data) and the best performers will be awarded. The winner of the Home Equity Trading Platform of the Year category will be determined on the basis of the entries received and the users' evaluation.
