Last year, we invested HUF 15 billion of capital in one year. More than the Széchenyi Funds have invested in all their 10 years of existence. Of this, nearly HUF 4 billion served our joint stock exchange development goals with the Budapest Stock Exchange. We have moved up a level.
We raised capital in companies that were truly IPO-ready or were already listed. Megakrán, DM-Ker, OXO and Gloster, one of the pioneers of digitalisation. Last year, it was voted the best Hungarian ICT company by the industry. And AutoWallis is growing and expanding regionally, while sustainable modes of mobility are also important to it.
We want to heat up the investment climate even further.
We provide even more SMEs and even large corporates with capital through our pre-IPO product to facilitate IPOs or invest directly at the time of going public. The BSE50 already includes Granit Bank, the leader in digital banking in Hungary, and the CER Group, which is launching new lines in rail freight transport.
Launched in the hottest summer, our HUF 10 billion Startup Programme indirectly helps start-ups to get off the ground and flourish.
This year has already been a hot one. We encourage everyone to dare to become big. But we should also look after each other and our environment.
The new climate is foreshadowed by BSE’s ESG guide, which provides a reference point for the “positive double standards” which the capital market increasingly use to assess the perfor- mance of companies. To be successful in the future, in addition to good financial indicators, you will also need a solid perfor- mance on non-financial areas, i.e. environmental, social and governance indicators. Many believe we are witnessing a new gold rush. This is the context in which we launched last year our new capital fund with the Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation, which provides capital to the innovative business- es that we desperately need in the fight for sustainability.
The market for pre-IPO SMEs is hot, and Széchenyi Fund investments are standing the test. Even if the financial market climate is constantly changing.
